Down in the Valley show was based in 1950s deep south of America. Costumes designed by Opera North.
![]() JennieOpera North's "Down in the Valley " Jennies costume was created so she stands out from all the other girls. She was portrayed as an angel and pristine. Her headpiece and petticoat both include LED lights to indicate this significance. Colour palette chosen from pottery researched from the period. | ![]() The PreacherOpera North's "Down in the Valley " The Preacher was to look older and more towering over the rest of the cast. Costume heavily gathered and made for a quick change. | ![]() The GuardsOpera North's "Down in the Valley " The Guards costumes were very iconic as the designer wanted to keep the initial uniform look. Adding In brown corduroy makes them relate more to the period. |
