About Me

Costume with Textiles graduate at The University of Huddersfield currently working for circus and carnival. My love for costume started at a young age, from my hobbies of ballet and figure skating. The movement and detail of the costumes mesmerised me.

After attending Whickham Academy studdying Art, Textiles and Dance. I combined my skills on a Art Diloma at Newcastle College , making garments. Still thriving for more knowledge I became a  student at The University of Huddersfield, specialising in costume design and embroidery.

During my time at University I had worked on the Brazilian carnival making garments as well as Opera North's "Down in the Valley" and Nice Swan Academy on Pantomime.

Although my experince is mainly Costume based,  I am able to work on masks, headpieces, props and scenery for set. I have a great understanding for costume in Circus, Theatre, Ballet and Opera and how textiles is not only a detail but the character speaking through its garment. I get a sense of excitement when assembling different formations on the body and watching the journey of developing personality and flair within the garment.

I am trained in construction, illustation and textiles for costume. In my spare time, I travel global and learn many different traditional and contemporary techniques from a range of cultural influences. This broadens my skills and knowledge to embed within my work.

I have a passion for creativity and explosion of art. I believe hard work and faith will take me to places I want to go.
